For whom: 7th, 8th and 9th grade students of color.
What: The goal of the program is to provide algebra tutoring to lower income, African-American students in an effort to build their algebra skills prior to them entering Algebra 1 in school and taking the Keystone Exam. For those currently taking Algebra 1, this program can also be supplementary to getting extra help.
When: Saturdays, from10-2pm.
Where: Carlow University’s campus in St. Agnes Church.
Tutors: The tutors for the program are members of Carnegie Mellon University’s undergraduate chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers.
Other: In addition, we are offering an optional hour of tutoring 9-10am for students who would like to work on homework of any subject prior to regular scheduled programming.
